Yap Earns National Ranking!

Lavinya Yap (12...now 13 SRI) in her last meet as a 12 year old hit her highest national ranking ever!
Her 2:10.81 in the 200 backstroke put her at 13th place in the nation for 12 year old girls in that event!


Barnard Crushes Competition in 2A HS State Meet

Archbishop Murphy freshman Alec Barnard (15 SRI) won the boys 200 Freestyle at the WIAA 2A State meet in Federal Way!
His time of 1:46.19 was a new meet record!

Alec also swam the 100 fly and earned third place with a time of 53.73!!
Both of Alec’s swims gained him admission to the WEST hosted Senior Sectional meet next week...

Congratulations to Alec for a hard earned job well done!

At the USA Swimming Short Course National Championships, Deb Keane was awarded the 2009 USA Swimming Conoco Phillips Outstanding Service Award. Deb Keane has exemplified Outstanding Service in the Pacific Northwest. While hosting (as Meet Director) the two National Championship level meets as Meet Director this August, and the Short Course National Championships in December, and serving on the PNS Board of Directors as Safety Chair, and now Program Operations Vice Chair she has exemplified professional service to our sport.   Congratulations Deb for your selection for this award, and thank you for your service.

Saturday Swim-a-Thon Letter Writing Party!

What: Swim-A-Thon donation letter writing

Why: Get donations to resurface our pool

When: THIS Saturday
February 20th right after practice

Where: Weight Room

Who: All WEST swimmers and their address list

Win: Every 10 letters you write and leave at the party your name is entered into a raffle for fun prizes (need not be present to win)

What Else: Refreshments, sample letters, envelopes, stamps, Jamba Juice flyers will be provided
* Every Jamba Juice purchased at Mill Creek Town Center Saturday 20th- Sunday 21st, WEST will get 20% back toward the pool fund. Remember to present your flyer at Jamba so WEST gets credit.

WEST COAST AQUATICS is a year round non-profit 501c3 aquatics program including lessons, water aerobics & other programming as well as a masters team and age group competitive swim program with swimmers aged 6 to 18. Our training groups range from pre--competitive to national training.
We own our own facility including a six lane, 25 yard pool, in Mill Creek, WA just north of Seattle.







Fall Lesson Registration Now Open
Our pool temporarily closed down Saturday August 7th to prepare for our pool resurface. Our office & weight room are currently open on an abbreviated schedule. Registration for lessons and swim team will be ongoing beginning August 16th. Zumba and yoga will be on regular schedule during the pool resurface. The hot tub will be closed during the resurface.
Approximate reopening of pool will be Monday October 4th.
