Peter Leib- Head Coach
Adam Martinez- Mill Creek
Stephanie Boden- Master's Coach
Peter
joined WEST in September 2007 and has been working
with the other coaches to continue with, as well as
escalate the team's tradition of excellence in
swimming. Peter utilizes his experience of almost
40 years in the sport of swimming as well as a deep
passion for the sport in leading his swimmers to
what ever level they care to go.
Presently, Peter is a member of the American Swim
Coaches Association and is on the Technical
Planning Committee of Pacific Northwest Swimming.
He was a coach for the 2008 PNS Western Zones
Champion team, 2009 winter and summer PNS All-Star
Teams and 2009 USA Swimming Zone Select Camp.
During his coaching career, Coach Peter has
developed swimmers ranging from novice to Senior
Sectional and Junior National qualifiers. He has
seen his highest level swimmers become the coveted
Scholastic All-American as well as Age Group
Sectional Champion. Peter believes that it is vital
to instill a sense of self motivation, pride,
perseverance and leadership as well as increasing
focus and work ethic in all his swimmers. He is
very technique/skill focused and utilizes creative
methods of delivery to get swimmers looking their
best while swimming faster. Swimmers should have
fun in their swimming at whatever level they are
at. That "fun" takes on a progressively new meaning
as a swimmer progresses through the program from
novice to elite.
Previously, Coach Peter was at Dynamo in Atlanta,
GA and Swift Swimming in Clermont (near Orlando),
Florida. While in Georgia, Peter was a coach for
the 2007 Georgia Zone Team. He played a significant
part in growing his Florida team of 30 swimmers to
over 100 within a year at which time they placed
2nd at their Area Championships meet.
Adam joins us the
2009 short course season and is looking forward to
assisting in elevating WEST to the top!
